We still need 3 to 5 volunteers for our Weekly Woodworking Workshop on 10/24! Volunteers will teach our standard curriculum to adult students and commit to either the first, second, or third Saturday of each month through the end of the year.
We’re moving away from disposable tags and introducing reusable Out of Order tags. Multiple tags will hang in prominent locations in each of the three shop rooms.If a machine is down:Unplug the machine. Hang a reusable tag where anyone approaching the machine can clearly see it, not underneath or somewhere easily missed. Do not write on the tag. Use the QR code on the tag or posted in the room to submit a maintenance request. Once the machine is repaired, return the tag to its designated location so it can be used again.Image

Big shoutout to one of our newest volunteers, Sierra! Sierra works as a project manager for an interior construction company and spent much of their 20s and 30s working in production woodshops. After spending their workdays at a computer, they are excited to put their talents back to work, be around fellow makers, and lend a helping hand in our community. We are so thrilled to have them bring their passion and shop experience to Bull City Woodshop!

Need to Adjust Attendance in a youth class?If the attendance doesn’t look right, you can now update it in the **Student Base** interface. Click the three dots next to the student, select Adjust Attendance, and mark them as present or absent.
What the Kerf?? Demonstrate to students that saw blades remove material and have a thickness of their own. Instruct them to align their blade on the "waste side" of the pencil line every single time so their final pieces maintain exact measurements.
Starting this fall, we'll be offering our Weekly Woodworking Workshop (WWW). This class follows the same proven curriculum we use in our youth program, but is adapted for adult learners. We're looking for volunteers to help teach, demonstrate techniques, and encourage students as they build projects.We're asking volunteers to sign up for one recurring Saturday each month instead of individual dates. Choose the Saturday group that works best for your schedule:
1st Saturdays: Oct. 3, Nov. 7, Dec. 5
2nd Saturdays: Oct. 10, Nov. 14, Dec. 12
3rd Saturdays: Sept. 19
4th Saturdays: Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 28
