🔨 Build Your Own Bat House! 🦇

Help support local wildlife while building something awesome. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll construct a functional bat house designed to provide safe shelter for bats in our area.

Using outdoor-grade materials and simple joinery, you’ll walk away with a finished bat house ready to mount at home.

In this hands-on class, you’ll build a single-chamber bat house from start to finish. This is a great project for beginners looking to learn woodworking basics while also creating something environmentally impactful.

With guidance from our instructors, you’ll learn how to measure, cut, assemble, and seal your bat house using essential shop tools and techniques. You’ll also learn key design features that make bat houses effective—like proper spacing, ventilation, and interior texture for roosting.

What You’ll Do

• Break down and prep plywood components
• Learn proper tool use (saws, drill/driver, clamps, etc.)
• Assemble the bat house structure with correct spacing
• Add interior texture for bat grip (critical step)
• Seal and prep for outdoor installation

• How to build for outdoor durability
• Basic principles of wildlife-friendly design

Duration: 3–4 hours 

This project is offered as a private group class, not an individual sign-up. Most sessions require 4 or more participants.

What to Bring:
Closed-toed shoes; avoid loose clothing and jewelry. All tools, materials, and safety gear are provided.

We can offer a full refund up to 7 days before the class. We can issue a transfer of registration if you cancel up to 7 days prior to the class. There are no refunds within the 7 day cutoff and no transfers of registration within the 7 day cutoff.
